It’s a natural progression.
Step 1:
Beginners’ Ballroom & Latin American Dance Course
You learn to dance to all rhythms. 8 week course. You will learn the basic steps in Cha Cha, Samba, Salsa, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Foxtrot & Waltz.
New Beginners Courses start on the first Wednesday and Friday of each month. You may come to either – or both if you want extra practice! Enrolment is essential. Course fee only, no casual rate.
Price: $123.00 for the course
You may repeat the course as often as you like without paying any extra!
Step 2:
When you feel you are confident with all the steps taught at Beginner level, you are welcome to join an Intermediate Course. It doesn’t matter whether you do Intermediate 1 or 2 first. You can choose the night that suits you and you will gradually get to do it all. At Intermediate level, there is no “bottomless cup” and you pay for every class you do. You are welcome to come both Wednesday and Friday, but it will be a separate charge because they are different classes. Each time we revisit the dances, there will be new steps at Intermediate level introduced.
Intermediate 1
4 week course. You will continue learning more adventurous steps in the dances you learnt in the Beginners’ Course. A new course starts each month. It is recommended that you pay for a month, but a casual rate is available. Check the Dance Class Calendar to see which dances are being taught each month.
Price: $18.50 per class or $61.50/ month
Intermediate 2
New dances to try! Tango, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, Rumba and Jive are introduced at a basic level. A new course starts each month. It is recommended that you pay for a month, but a casual rate is available. Once again, check the Dance Class Calendar to see which dances are being taught each month.
Price: $18.50 per class or $61.50/ month
Step 3:
Advanced
This is where the fun begins! It is important that you are confident with all the dances taught in Intermediate 1 & 2 before joining this class. Ballroom Foxtrot is introduced at this level and small routines at a more advanced level are taught in the other dances. Check the Dance Class Calendar to see which dances are being taught each month. This class will prepare for Elementary medals. Participation in the tests is not compulsory though we will encourage you to ‘be brave’. You are welcome to join in Beginners & Intermediate classes at no extra charge when enrolled in Advanced – we really appreciate your ‘help’ with those less experienced.

Step 4:
Medal Classes
Medal classes are for those who wish to learn at a more technical level than in the ‘Social classes’. All ages. Children, Youth, Adults & Seniors work together. Further details are available on the Medal Dance classes page.
Step 5:
Training Squad
By invitation only. In-depth technical training in Ballroom and Latin American. For competition dancers and those at high medal levels.
